Set up your email on iPhone (Outlook app)
Add your work email to Microsoft Outlook on an iPhone.
About five minutes. You will need your email address and password, and the settings from Your email settings.
If you do not have Outlook yet, install Microsoft Outlook from the App Store first.
Steps
Open Outlook.
If this is your first account, tap Add Account. Otherwise tap your profile picture (top left) ‚Üí the settings cog ‚Üí Add Mail Account ‚Üí Add Email Account.
Type your full email address and tap Add Account.
Outlook will try to detect the settings and will not succeed. When it asks what kind of account this is, choose IMAP.
Tap Advanced Settings or Not IMAP? if Outlook has guessed something else.
Fill in:
IMAP Incoming Mail Server
- Host:
imap.yourdomain.com - Port:
993 - Security: SSL
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
SMTP Outgoing Mail Server
- Host:
smtp.yourdomain.com - Port:
465 - Security: SSL
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
- Host:
Tap Sign In or the tick in the top corner.
Check it worked
Send yourself an email from another account and reply to it.
If it does not work
Outlook keeps asking for a Microsoft account
You have tapped the wrong option. Your work email is not a Microsoft account. Go back and choose IMAP when asked for the account type.
"We couldn't connect"
Check the port numbers: 993 for incoming, 465 for outgoing, both with SSL
switched on. Outlook sometimes fills in 143 and 587 by default, which will
not work with SSL enabled.
Username rejected
Use the whole email address, not just the part before the @.
